Autism Queensland Board announces new Chairman
The Autism Queensland Board of Directors is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Ian Langdon as Board Chairman.
Mr Langdon, who is also Chair of the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service Board of Directors, was appointed to the position at the organisation’s Annual General Meeting on May 28.
Mr Langdon has extensive Board and Chair experience with past roles at Dairy Farmers, Rabobank, Delta Electricity, Pivot Fertilisers and the Peanut Company of Australia. He has also held a number of academic positions including Associate Professor and Dean of Business at Griffith University (Gold Coast).
As the grandfather of an 18 year-old autistic boy, Mr Langdon is a passionate advocate of early intervention, access to appropriate learning environments and working with organisations to provide employment opportunities.
The Board also acknowledged the contribution to the organisation of outgoing Chair Mr Barry Dennien who served as a Director for four and a half years, three as Chair.
