Autism Queensland to explore opening a school in Cairns
Autism Queensland has provided specialist education services for children on the autism spectrum since the 1960s.
Following a recent survey in which our clients indicated there was a growing need for an autism specific education facility to support school-aged children living in the Cairns area, we are now exploring the possibility of expanding our services in the region to include a school.
It is likely the school will initially deliver classes for children in the early years of their education, however ultimately the final decision will depend on the level of interest received from families and the ages of their children.
