Autism Queensland appoints Advisory Committee
29 Jun 2021
Autism Queensland Chair Joanne Peulen today announced the formation of the Autism Queensland Advisory Committee.
Ms Peulen welcomed the new members who were selected from an expression of interest and interview process.
“I thank everyone who indicated they would like to be part of this committee. While we were not able to interview everyone who applied, we are confident those who were shortlisted and then selected are representative of our broad community,” she said.
The inaugural committee comprises seven members including people on the spectrum and parents of children on the spectrum.
They are Damien Cassin, Julie Currie, Daniel Ferreira-Loureiro, Laura Lewis, Gilly-Elle McKeown, Dr Alexis Wallace and Rachelle Wicks. To learn more about each member please follow this link to the Advisory Committee page.
The committee will provide independent and impartial advice to the Autism Queensland Board of Directors, Executive Leadership Team, Senior Management and Professional Practice Team about organisational strategies and services.
A chairperson will be appointed at the Committee’s first official meeting later this year.
