This interactive workshop for teacher aides, school officers, and support staff offers practical strategies and skills that will enhance their roles within the classroom and school environment.  

Participants will explore effective communication techniques, classroom management tools, and ways to support student learning and well-being and gain an understanding of autism and explore proactive strategies to support inclusion and maximise participation.  

Interactive activities, real-world examples, and collaborative discussions will empower school support staff to make a positive, lasting impact on student success. 

All content is drawn from current research, facilitator experience, and shared knowledge from people with lived experience.  

TOPICS 
  • Understanding autism  
  • The importance of understanding the individual student to successfully enhance their engagement, learning and wellbeing   
  • Practical strategies to support inclusion and participation across all areas of school life including classroom, playground, transitions, planned changes such as sports days, and unplanned changes such as evacuations, fire drills etc.  

Whether you’re new to the role or an experienced professional, this workshop will provide valuable insights and tools to enhance your day-to-day practice and support student success.
