Early Intervention Indigenous Liaison Officer Program

The Early Intervention Indigenous Liaison Officer (EI ILO) Program is a national project hosted by Autism Queensland that aims to raise awareness and understanding of autism and disability in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities. It is funded by The Department of Social Services.


The program aims are to:

  • Raise awareness of disabilities within Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Build relationships with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander families and communities; and link them with relevant support services.
  • Work in collaboration with, and provide cultural perspectives to, disability organisations, NDIS, Carers
  • Australia and other early intervention service providers.

The Indigenous Liaison Team are based at Autism Queensland’s office in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane. The team have a national role and work throughout Australia.
