MACKAY - Developing an Individual Positive Behaviour Support Plan (2-day course - 20 May & 22 July)
Jubilee Community Centre, Alfred Street, MACKAY - 09:00 - 16:00
THIS IS A TWO DAY COURSE. YOU WILL ALSO BE REQUIRED TO ATTEND ON MONDAY 22 JULY (DAY 2).
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is a structured, preventative and evidence-based approach to addressing complex and challenging behaviours.
A Functional Behaviour Assessment (FBA) is a key component of an individual behaviour support plan and a useful process for team members supporting individuals who require a more thorough consideration of a specific focus behaviour.
An FBA may be useful when the focus behaviour is persistent, dangerous, highly disruptive and/or a frequent barrier to learning and engagement with others.
This two-day course will guide participants through the steps necessary for developing an FBA that can be used to develop an individual positive behaviour support plan.
Templates and tools will be provided to help you develop your plan and the facilitator will utilise current research and evidence as well as professional experience to ensure individual behaviour support plans are valid and practical.
Be required to attend BOTH DAYS of the course
Require access to a client or student for practical data collection and the development of an individual behaviour support plan
Determine the function of the behaviour of concern and appropriate replacement of alternative behaviours to teach and reinforce
Receive all materials including handouts, tools, templates and links to further information and useful resources.
