This workshop will introduce reasons why behaviour of concern may take place, as well as present positive, proactive strategies for supporting an individual on the autism spectrum.
The faciliator will cover topics including:
the impact of autism on the individual (strengths and challenges)
underlying reasons for behaviour that may be of concern
modifying our response to behaviour that challenges us
positive, proactive strategies for reducing behaviour of concern.
Participants are encouraged to actively engage in this workshop and will learn practical strategies to support individuals on the autism spectrum to have more success participating in everyday activities.
This workshop is suitable for Queensland teacher CPD Annual Requirements, Australian Professional Standards for Teaching 1, 3 & 4.
