This workshop will explore the topic of sensory processing differences for individuals on the autism spectrum. It will also provide a brief summary of evidence-based strategies that can be used to support an individual’s participation in daily activities.
This workshop has been designed for parents and carers of individuals of all ages on the autism spectrum. It is also suitable for individuals on the spectrum.
The facilitator will provide an introduction to topics including:
What is sensory processing?
Common sensory processing differences for individuals on the spectrum?
Evidence-based, inclusive strategies that have been found to be helpful for individuals on the spectrum (home, school and community settings)?
How to be an informed consumer (where, and from whom, can I seek advice?)
