TOWNSVILLE - Behaviour Success with Young Children
Selectability, 59A Cambridge St, AITKENVALE - 18:00 - 20:00
In this session, we will look at why children may display behaviours of concern, keeping in mind some of the differences in learning that children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) often face.
We will discuss proactive strategies that are individualised to the child, to reduce the likelihood of the behaviour of concern and cover topics including:
The reasons challenging behaviours occur
An overview of Positive Behaviour Support, and why this approach is successful when supporting children with ASD
Identifying factors that make the behaviour both more likely, and less likely to occur
Things we can try immediately to limit the likelihood of the behaviour re-occurring
The importance of consistency across the team.
Suitable for: Everyone working in the ECEC field.
