Congratulations to 2024 Recognition Awards winners!
4 Dec 2024
Each year Autism Queensland (AQ) seeks nominations to recognise outstanding achievements from the autistic community and in 2024 we congratulate the following winners and special commendation awardees…
AQ was honoured to have our Patron, the Governor of Queensland, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo host the annual 2024 AQ Recognition Awards ceremony on Tuesday 3 December, the International Day of People with Disability.
Hosted at Government House in Paddington, the event brought together members of the autism community from across Queensland, supporters, and distinguished guests to acknowledge the outstanding contributions made across Queensland. Congratulations to our Award winners and special commendation recipients.

The mum who nominated our award winners, described the school as a beacon of inclusion, a leader in welcoming and nurturing neurodivergent students, with an unparallelled understanding of the diverse needs of autistic children. Her autistic twins are flourishing in Year 3 and she believes the school and inclusion team are setting a new benchmark in education, ensuring that every student—regardless of their neurodiversity—can shine.
