AQ Welcomes the National Autism Strategy and First Action Plan
14 Jan 2025
We are delighted to see the Australian Government’s release of the National Autism Strategy 2025 -2031 and the First Action Plan 2025-26, a pivotal step forward for Autistic Australians.
For over 57 years, Autism Queensland has removed barriers to education, employment, and healthcare for autistic people and their families. We are pleased this Strategy acknowledges these obstacles and lays out a framework to address them.
This co-designed Strategy, developed in partnership with autistic individuals, families, carers, and the broader community, is built on four pillars:
- Social Inclusion
- Economic Inclusion
- Diagnosis, Services, and Supports
- Health and Mental Health
We commend the Strategy’s commitment to fostering a society that values and respects the strengths, aspirations, and perspectives of all autistic people.
We’re proud to contribute to this ongoing transformation and look forward to our role in building a future where autistic people are fully included in all aspects of life.
