Services

AQ has a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, speech pathologists and occupational therapists qualified to conduct a range of assessments for all ages. These services are delivered face to face from our centres across Queensland or statewide via telepractice.

Please note fees apply to AQ services and supports.

Our holistic, collaborative assessments provide neurodiversity-affirming support. We focus on each person’s strengths, while acknowledging their support needs in a way that is neurodiversity-affirming. The term ‘Autism Spectrum Disorder’ is only used when required, in relation to Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders – Fifth Edition (DSM-5) diagnostic criteria.

Clients seeking an autism diagnostic assessment are encouraged to consult with a paediatrician or psychiatrist (as well as their GP) to obtain an appropriate referral letter. With client consent, assessment results can be shared with their treating doctor/s to support follow up recommendations. See below for available assessments and packages.

Initial Clinical Intake Interview

An initial clinical intake interview is conducted with all clients to gather information and identify assessments that will best suit each client’s needs.

The type and price of the package may alter depending on the clinician’s assessment of the individual’s need/s. This will be discussed at or following the initial intake appointment.

Available face-to-face at most AQ centres across Queensland, within the community (travel fees may apply), or statewide via Telepractice.
Waitlists may apply.

Cost Breakdown

Service costs are calculated based on the standard hourly rate of $193.99/hour for speech pathologists and occupational therapists; and $232.99/hour for psychologists. The type of assessment package and prices may vary depending on the clinician’s assessment.
