Autism Queensland provides the following targeted programs and supports for young children on the autism spectrum and their families.
Early Childhood Intervention Services
Early diagnosis followed by structured, individualised early intervention can make a significant difference in the lives of young children diagnosed with ASD. Autism Queensland's team of therapy and education professionals with expertise in ASD deliver early childhood intervention services statewide from our centres in Brisbane, Gladstone, Rockhampton, Mackay and Cairns. Allied Health & Diagnostic Assessment Services
Autism Queensland provides Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy services for individuals of all ages from our centres in Brisbane at Sunnybank Hills and Brighton, and regionally from Gladstone, Rockhampton, Mackay and Cairns. Individual speech pathology and our Talk to Learn groups are also available in Inverell in NSW. Read more ►
Autism Queensland's professional learning facilitators have more than 75 years of combined experience in the ASD field. Our workshops are delivered around Queensland and are available to parents and other family members who are supporting individuals on the autism spectrum.
They also deliver Early Days Workshops on behalf of the Department of Social Services for parents of young children on the spectrum or who are going through the assessment and diagnosis process. Please click here to see the current schedule.
Support Coordination Services
Autism Queensland is registered to provide support connection and coordination of supports to NDIS participants who have provision for this service in their NDIS plan. Read more ►
Autism Advisor Program
The Autism Advisor Program (AAP) is a component of the Australian Government's Helping Children with Autism (HCWA) package. Autism Queensland is funded by the Department of Social Services (DSS) to deliver the program in Queensland. Read more ►
Early Intervention Indigenous Liaison Officer Program
A national project hosted by Autism Queensland and funded by Department of Social Services as part of the HCWA program that aims to increase awareness of childhood disability in indigenous families and communities. Read more ►
