Lucy has been part of Autism Queensland for seven years, beginning as a Lifestyle Support Worker in the Community Services team before stepping into her current role as a House Leader.

For Lucy, a dedicated frontline professional who prioritises health, safety and wellbeing in every aspect of her work, the most rewarding part of working at AQ is being part of a supportive team that makes a genuine difference every day.

Lucy supports AQ’s Supported Independent Living clients to build skills, work towards their goals and develop greater confidence and independence. She draws on a strong understanding of autistic communication, sensory needs and predictable practice to provide thoughtful, inclusive and responsive support that helps people feel safe, supported and included.

She also plays an important role in guiding and coaching team members, strengthening consistency and confidence across the team. Her person-centred approach helps foster wellbeing, belonging and quality of life for the people she supports.

“I love being part of a team that supports people to achieve their goals and feel more confident in their everyday lives,” said Lucy.
