Autism Queensland Announces Appointment of New CEO

Autism Queensland is pleased to announce the appointment of Frances Scodellaro as its new Chief Executive Officer.
With more than 35 years’ experience in the autism field, Frances has held senior management positions at Autism Queensland since 2004.
Currently Chief Operations Officer, she is responsible for the development and oversight of services and supports including the AQ School, therapy services, early childhood supports, supported accommodation services, employment services, inclusion support services, parent education and support, professional development, research and development.
Frances’ holds a Bachelor of Speech Therapy, an Advanced Diploma in Community Sector Management and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Queensland.
“We are thrilled that Frances will be moving into this new role,” said AQ Board Chair, Neil Makepeace.
“Her long history at Autism Queensland combined with a forward-thinking approach that aligns with our vision and strategic goals, means Frances is the perfect person to lead the organisation into a new chapter it enters it’s 58th year of operation.”
Frances will succeed current CEO Pam Macrossan when she retires in late January 2024 after 10 years with the organisation, the past five as CEO.
Autism Queensland is the State’s peak autism body. A registered NDIS provider, AQ delivers a comprehensive suite of services and supports for autistic and neurodivergent people of all ages from centres located in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Gladstone, Rockhampton, Mackay and Cairns. It also operates an autism-friendly school with campuses in Brisbane and Cairns. Three more campuses on the Sunshine Coast and in Mackay and Rockhampton will open for the start of the 2025 school year.
