Autism Queensland News

Welcome to our new website

The puzzle-piece butterfly has taken flight from the AQ website as the organisation enters its 55th year of operation with a new brand.

Commencing operations in Brisbane in 1967, AQ is the second oldest provider of autism-related services in Australia, and the largest in Queensland, supporting people of all ages on the spectrum, their families and communities.

AQ has had several logos across the years, but the new logo is very different from anything that has come before.

Chief Executive Officer Pam Macrossan said the butterfly and blue and green corporate colours had served the organisation well, but changing times and attitudes called for a refresh.

“Community, client and staff feedback reinforced the opinion that the puzzle piece was no longer appropriate when associated with autism,” said Ms Macrossan.

“A brand overhaul has been on our wish list for some time, so it is great to recognise our 55th year with an exciting new look.”

AQ consulted with clients, staff and other stakeholders to gather data to inform the design and colors of the new branding which features on this website.

The new brand is not the only exciting news for AQ. Supporters are also encouraged to watch out for the launch of the inaugural Autism Queensland Sweat Series, commencing in March with an Autism Walk
