This session is part two of a two-part series. Participants are encouraged to attend both sessions, however this is not a requirement. BOOK HERE for Part 1: Autism & Handwriting: Teaching the Skill & Providing Intervention, Monday 27 May, 6.30pm-8pm.

Handwriting requirements at school can present substantial barriers for autistic students who struggle with this skill. However, it is vital they have the same opportunity to learn and demonstrate knowledge on the same basis as their peers.

In this interactive webinar, we will:
  • Provide an overview of handwriting requirements in the Australian Curriculum (Queensland application)
  • Share an example of the characteristics which show handwriting difficulties and the impact they can have on the student’s schooling.
  • Share details of associated reasonable adjustments that can be implemented to support the student.
  • Investigate other adjustments that can be considered if handwriting is determined a barrier to a student’s ability to learn and demonstrate knowledge at school.

  • Allow you to ask questions and develop strategies to help you and your family.

Cancellation of Advertised Workshops/Webinars and Courses by Autism Queensland

  • Autism Queensland makes every attempt to ensure that workshops proceed as outlined.
  • We reserve the right to alter any arrangements, including cancellation of a workshop, substitution of presenters, change of venue, if required.
  • Registered participants will be notified as soon as possible should there be a cancellation, and all monies will be refunded.

Participant Cancellation

  • Cancellation of registration by the participant up to 10 working days prior to the scheduled date of workshops and courses will forfeit 50% of the cost.
  • Cancellations up to one month prior to the date of an individually tailored service (“We Come to You”) will forfeit 10% of the cost.
  • Cancellations up to 10 working days prior for the above will forfeit 50% of the cost.
  • Where any non-refundable travel costs have been incurred by Autism Queensland, these costs will be borne by the registered participant/s.
  • Transfers of payments are only possible for workshops run in the same school term and when 10 working days notification is given.
